Launch Event for the FINESCE Trial Site in Terni

Terni, 17 September 2013: The FINESCE Trial Site Launch Event was accompanied by representatives of the local press.

Launch Event TerniThe FINESCE Trial Site in Terni, Italy, was launched on the 17th of September 2013 in the presence of the local press and the FINESCE Partners, who had travelled to the city of Terni for the 3rd General Meeting of the FINESCE Project. The FINESCE Trial Site in Terni focuses on the topic 'Energy grid management in a smart city via an energy marketpace' and is under the main leadership of the FINESCE Partner Engineering.
In the corresponding press conference, the Mayor of Terni, Leopoldo Di Girolamo, emphasized the city’s enthusiasm for innovative technological and social development. In this context, the municipality had created the ‘Terni Smart City’ project to include the city in its entirety into new developments of sectors like public services, power production, consumption management and alternative mobility.
Dr. Carlo Ottone, the President of ASM Terni S.p.A. followed with a speech on the company’s involvement in creating a sustainable city. He described Terni as a "city-sized laboratory” that saw the FINESCE project as an opportunity to be part of the next step in the smart grid development: the energy management through future internet services.
Dr. Carlo Ottone then closed with the words "We believe this is the development of future Terni”.
