On March 25-26, the InnoGrid2020+ held its 3rd annual European Transmission and Distribution Research and Demonstration seminar in Brussels, Belgium.

The conference gave insight into a wide range of interesting subjects related to the future energy system and brought together many stakeholders from the energy sector, including DSOs, TSOs, policy-makers, regulators, scholars as well as manufacturers.

The two-day programme included presentations and sessions about several topics such as "Grids in the Integrated Roadmap – Working towards a holistic European energy system”, "Funding streams – Status of EU funding opportunities and challenges”, "Integration of new energy streams and consumers”, "Grids in Smart Cities” and many more.

The FINESCE Field Trials on Smart Energy were presented at this event by Prof. Antonello Monti (RWTH Aachen University). His presentation covered current developments in the Future Internet of Energy, an overview of the FI-PPP Programme, information on ICT components at the FINESCE trials sites as well as an overview on the different Future Internet related applications for the smart energy world.

With more than 200 visitors, the conference was well attended. It was held in the Steigenberger Grandhotel and organised by ENTSO-E, EDSO for Smart Grids and Grid+.
