Review: 9th Smart Grid Stakeholder Group Meeting

On the 23rd of September FINESCE hosted another successful Smart Grid Stakeholder Meeting in Berlin, chaired by the FINESCE project coordinator Fiona Williams (Ericsson) and Alexander von Jagwitz (B.A.U.M. Consult GmbH). The event took place at the Maritim Hotel, where the World Smart Grid Forum 2013 started the next day (www.worldsmartgridforum2013.org).Many companies from various backgrounds interested in joining the FINESCE project as new partners used the opportunity to introduce themselves and their work in 99 seconds. The presentations of the event focused on the architecture of the seven FINESCE trial sites and the question how Future Internet technologies can be used for the issues and challenges of a smart grid infrastructure.
Another main topic of the event was the on-going open call process, in which new project partners for FINESCE will be chosen. The submission period for the open call will close on November 13th 2013.The presentations were, as always, interspersed with lively discussions and networking among the attendants.
The Smart Grid Stakeholder Group (SGSG) has been established to create a liaison between industry organisations involved in the evolution and roll out of Smart Grids. The Group is open to all industry organisations who have or who intend to have an involvement in the research, development and deployment of ICT based future energy systems.
